For Drivers
Drive with Tinka — get paid the same day.
Finish a trip, your wallet updates instantly. Withdraw to MTN MoMo or Airtel Money any time — no waiting until Monday like Bolt, no week-long lockup like SafeBoda. Just same-day cash flow so you can fuel up tomorrow.
What Tinka drivers actually earn
Real numbers from active Tinka drivers in Kampala — not inflated billboard quotes. After Tinka's commission and your own fuel.
Top earners online during peak hours (7–9am, 4–7pm), avoid cancellations, and keep their rating above 4.5.
Why drivers switch to Tinka
The four things every driver who joins us actually mentions in their orientation.
💸 Cash in your wallet today, not Monday
Bolt holds your money 7 days. SafeBoda holds it about a week. Uber pays Mondays. Tinka updates your wallet the moment a trip completes — withdraw to mobile money instantly.
📞 A team in Kampala that picks up
Our office is at Akamwesi Mall on Gayaza Road. If you have a problem, you can walk in and someone will help — or WhatsApp us at +256 760 722262.
⚖️ Commission that makes sense
Lower commission than the global apps so you keep more per trip. We make less per ride but get more rides — same-day pay attracts drivers, more drivers attract riders.
🚗 Boda, car, delivery — one driver app
If you have a sedan you can do passenger trips AND parcel delivery. If you ride a boda you can do both too. One app, multiple income streams.
How Tinka Driver works
Seven steps from "I want to drive" to "first trip completed and paid out."
1. Download the Tinka Driver app
Get Tinka Driver from Google Play. It is a different app from the rider one.
2. Sign up with your mobile money number
Use the phone number linked to your MTN MoMo or Airtel Money — that is where your earnings land.
3. Upload your documents in daylight
Driving permit, logbook, insurance, ID, LC1 letter, police clearance, vehicle photos and a passport-style photo of you.
4. Wait for verification (2–3 days)
A real person in our Kampala office reviews every document. If anything is missing we WhatsApp you.
5. 30-minute orientation at our office
Akamwesi Mall, Gayaza Road. We show you the app, what gets you good ratings, what gets you suspended, and how payouts work.
6. Go online — first trip in minutes
Tap Go online in the app. Trip requests start flowing in based on your area and time of day.
7. Get paid same day via mobile money
Trip completes, wallet updates, you withdraw to MoMo or Airtel Money in seconds. No Monday wait.

Driver FAQ
How fast is "same-day payout" actually?
Seconds. Trip completes → wallet updates → tap Withdraw → money in your MoMo. We use PawaPay for the rails — no batch processing, no Monday cut-off.
Can I drive for both Tinka and Bolt/SafeBoda at the same time?
Yes — many drivers do. Tinka doesn't lock you into exclusivity. The driver app pauses when you accept a trip on us, but you can switch between platforms freely.
What gets a driver suspended on Tinka?
Cancelling rides after the rider's been waiting. Driving without a helmet (boda) or seatbelt. Asking riders for cash on top of the app fare. Letting someone else use your account. Going offline for hours and claiming GPS is broken. None of these are surprising.
My vehicle is owned by my brother — can I still drive?
Yes, but bring a signed agreement with the owner. We need to see the logbook in the owner's name plus a written agreement giving you permission to use it for ride-hailing.
Where do I go for in-person help?
Our office at CW, 2nd floor, Akamwesi Mall, Gayaza-Kampala Road, Kampala. Walk in any working day. Or WhatsApp +256 760 722262.
